This skeleton mermaid looks a lot like a self-portrait of Swoon and is very similar to the screen print on silk we have in our swoon gallery.
Excerpt from New York Street Art by Kelly Burns and a great Street art Book.
KB:Why do you make street art?
Swoon: I do it because it is raucous an virile. Street art takes on a life of its own, it's subject to the input of every inhabitant of the city. I do it because I think it is the most beautiful art form I have yet to encounter since moving to New York, because it is as generous as it is destructive, and it acknowledges the destruction inherent in every act of creation.
